Jah Cares is a Chicago-based childcare and family support service, offering in-home babysitting, part-time and full-time nanny care, and emerging doula and lactation services. Led by a Certified Nursing Assistant with BLS CPR certification and a degree in Child and Adolescent Development, we pair clinical awareness with nurturing, development-focused care.
Our roots go back to 2017, when our founder began nannying for Chicago families while earning a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies, with a focus on Child and Adolescent Development. In 2024, that one-on-one work became Jah Cares, created to bring reliable, relationship-based support to more homes.
As a Black-owned, female-owned practice rooted in Chicago, we offer culturally aware care, clinical insight, and genuine teamwork with every family. We listen closely, honor your values, and adapt to your routines, so you feel seen, safe, and supported, with a consistent partner from pregnancy through everyday childcare.
Jaharra Griffin, the heart of Jah Cares, is a dedicated childcare professional with over 9 years of experience. A Certified Nursing Assistant and BLS CPR certified, Jaharra holds a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies, focusing on Child and Adolescent Development, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In pursuit of a Master of Science in Nursing, her commitment to nurturing childhood development is evident in her passionate and personalized care.
We provide healthcare-informed childcare, doula, and lactation support that respects each family's culture, routines, and goals, and we envision empowered parents raising confident children in safe, nurturing home environments.
